837641 2009-12-08 08:35:00 after recently purchasing Aion I installed the game and began to download the patches without a problem however while updating to 1.5.1.4 I recieve a message saying "Xdelta.exe" has stoped working, upon searching google I found very little to no inofrmation on what Xdelta is or its issue relating to Aion.

Thanks

837642 2009-12-08 09:29:00 Hello and welcome to the F1 forums!

Please state your operating system for us.

I have found a post that may be useful for you, in certain areas.

www.aionsource.com

I too have been unable to find any sites in regard to a patch installation failure.

It is possible this certain update is corrupt. It is possible, that you need to run it as an administrator if you do not do so already. It is also possible that there is a corruption within the game updater. Uninstalling the game > Deleting all files associated to it > Reinstalling and re patching might fix it.

I suggest you contact their support as well. There may be a conflict with a particular service that runs on your PC, and this does occur on some games, so it's good to keep researching now and then.

I suggest you wait for a few others to post their ideas, but I for one would:

Contact Aion support, and flick them a technical email
Uninstall & reinstall everything. See if it works.
Double check you are running it as an administrator

ALSO.. there have been times where Anti-Viruses stop a .exe file going, because it is suspicious. It's not impossible, but it is likely and can happen. Review that situation as well, just to double check. I for one had issues with Battle for Middle Earth 2 3 years ago, the problem was Norton was interfering with the game launchers .exe file. Ekkk

Good luck :)

837645 2009-12-08 18:05:00 Heh, alright. Get back to me when you've tried a few things.

Vista does have it's problems, but I'm sure we can work around them.
