2009-12-12 09:03:00 | :crying Hello everyone.... I have a problem with my BENQ FP93GW LCD monitor (yes.. i am the first result on the search engine..)... Illustrated below.... there seems to be an issue with my pixel width... every time i try to auto set, this keeps happening... img46.imageshack.us Is it my monitor that is screwy or my Graphics card that is giving up to the ghost? (because the monitor fills up at lower reso...) my computer specs are as follows P4 HT 3.0GHz clocked to 3.2 Intel 965 Chipset 2GB Ram 350W PSU Windows 7/XP dual boot Gecube ATI Radeon X300 128MB graphics card, connected via VGA cabling.. shielded i initially thought it was a poorly shielded VGA cable.. and that did not make much of a difference so... i am planning to make a leap and get a used nvdia 8800 or an 8600 just to tide me over until i can scrape up some cash for a real powerful system... just saying though.. i have abused the X300 card over the years( 4 yrs to be exact) using Autocad,Solid works, ProEngineer, Photoshop, Unreal tournament... and i am wondering how big of a detrimental effect would that have on the rig.... :help:

2009-12-12 10:34:00 | img46.imageshack.us better link i think.. Mobo is a Gigabyte 945P Dual graphic ( my bad ) www.gigabyte.co.nz and the Psu is a Tsunami 350 W true power.. but i have to say that at 1280x800 it fills the screen, but isn't the native reso...

2009-12-12 10:47:00 | If the ATI drivers are installed, go into CCC to the scaling option and move the slider to the right. That should move the right more to the right. So it fills the screen. Are the latest version of the ATI drivers installed? The same thing happened, on this earlier today. I had to go into CCC and adjust the scaling, so it filled the whole screen | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2009-12-12 20:12:00 | Hi.. I did not install the drivers earlier.. because Win7 was rejecting the drivers i had... and it was fine without it for almost a month.... but i recently swapped a vga cable... so that may have affected it? anyway.. installing drivers 7.11 and will see how it goes.. EDIT: SOLVED! I clicked something called composite sync... and things look a whole lot better now! :D .. thanks! (sheesh.. i feel like a muppet... turns out i was trying to install the XP drivers... i should have been installing the Vista ones... looks like i will have to retract my bid for that 8600GT... or should i get it hmm.... )

2009-12-12 20:41:00 | Umm you mean 9.11??? The latest version for Vista 32 / 64 bit is 9.11 not 7.11. I would get a card with more ram. 128 mb isnt a lot | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
