| 838929 | 2009-12-12 23:07:00 | I went to buy the HD4870/90 1Gb card earlier this year. This card was 'the bomb' at the time. Approx $600 for sapphire. Didn't buy it but now see they can be got for around $300! Question you should ask yourself is, is it worth buying the latest or waiting a few months? Don't forget if this is a major upgrade you may also need a new PSU (i.e. corsair 750W) and they aren't cheap. |

Yesterday's cutting-edge, super expensive technology is often today's bargin and tomorrow's absolute steal. Unless you have to have the latest and greatest (and if you do, and you've got the cash, go for it), a bit of patience can deliver huge savings for what are still great components. |

| 838931 | 2009-12-13 01:04:00 | Been looking at screenshots of 5870 video card and I notice that doesn't have TV out socket on the back of the card. Are you still able to connect 5870 up to your Monitor and connect it to the TV at the same time because we watch quite a lot of stuff in the lounge. Our old TV doesn't have HDMI or DVI. I just used S-Video cable and connected it to long AVI extension cable so it connected to the TV in the lounge from this computer using 9600XT Video Card. I not to sure if I'm using the correct terminology, but hopefully you'll understand what I mean. |
