| 838722 | 2009-12-11 02:48:00 | Is there a program which instructs iTunes to store and play music in the external hard drive? From my understanding when you play music via iTunes, it automatically stores the music in 'My Documents'. I don't want that to happen, as my laptop fills itself with music. | 838724 | 2009-12-11 03:00:00 | When you import music from another source, eg: external drive or another PC it doesn't actually bring the music across, only links to the music. You open Itunes, file / Add file OR add Folder - navigate to its location and across comes the links. If you right click on any song, Get info / Summary tab it will show you where the original song is. An example - I have quite a few songs in my Itunes library - only 4 are actually in the Itunes Folder on this PC - the rest are all on two servers in the workshop. ( see attached Image - highlighted) SO if the server is off the music wont play. Edited: had to hide the song name :blush: |
