| 838660 | 2009-12-11 00:53:00 | Hi, I'm using the Thomson Gateway TG585v7 and when I do a connectivity check I can only connect to the gateway and not dns servers (202.27.158.40) and (202.27.156.72). Is this bad? Should I change the dns server manually? Screenshot: img697.imageshack.us |

Try OpenDNS: chillingsilence.wordpress.com I used to use OpenDNS, but about 10 days ago I found my page loads were VERY slow. Switched to the XTRA addresses and all came right. No idea what that was all about. |

| 838665 | 2009-12-11 21:54:00 | Basically you *need* DNS to browse the 'net, unless you wanna remember that 210.48.100.45 is pcworld.co.nz etc etc It could just be that they've firewalled them so they don't respond to ping requests? I dunno... If you're browsing, then don't sweat it :) |
