838496 2009-12-10 20:32:00 You can interchange them but they will run at the speed of the slowest stick. Eg. DDR PC3200 will run at 333MHz when it is mixed with PC2700. (DDR333 is the 'newer' name for DDR PC2700) stainton (15333)
838497 2009-12-10 20:35:00 Just as long as it supports 266,33 and 400. Altho it may run at the lower speed. It may also depend on what the FSB of the CPU is. If its 800 FSB, then it should take 266, 333 or 400. However, if the CPU's FSB is 533, it may not like DDR 400, or 333. Until you lower the FSB in the BIOS to match the FSB of the CPU. I found this out with the (P4) 533 CPU I used to have here. It wouldnt run with DDR 400, until I changed the FSB to 266 in the BIOS. Speedy Gonzales (78)
838498 2009-12-10 21:29:00 9 out of 10 DDR boards will run on anything from PC2100 (266) to PC3200 (400). All the RAM just slows down to the speed of the slowest chip. I mix 400 and 333 all the time. wratterus (105)
