| 838311 | 2009-12-10 03:26:00 | Ok now I think the project name should be changed to Project Black Thunder... its all I could come up with ^^ Anyway so I've done a few upgrades since my last post here they are Purchased(and installed) Parts: Case: Coolermaster cm-690 Motherboard: ASUS M4A77TD Pro ATX HDD: Seagate Barracude 1tb 7200.12 Asus DVD-RAM DRW-21B1ST Also, about 5 minutes ago i purchased a AMD Phenom X4 955 BE (www.playtech.co.nz) I was going to hold off however I saw the price had dropped and it had free shipping, It was $70.00 more than the 720 I was going to get(I'd changed my mind about the propus) but it had 'a bit' of a performance boost. As it stands I need atleast a stick of DDR3 Ram to run it. However for proper completion i need: 4GB DDR3 RAM, Looking at DDR3-1333 or 1600 PSU, Looking at 750w or 850w Modular range from corsair or XFX A Graphics Card, looking at 4890 |

I would recommend either this (www.computerlounge.co.nz)or this (www.computerlounge.co.nz) if you want modular, or this (www.computerlounge.co.nz)or this (www.computerlounge.co.nz)if you don't. I would go for a 5770 over a 4890, only slightly less powerful but it uses a lot less power (about 70w vs 120w) and supports DX11, where the 4890 is only a DX10.1 card. That's not a major at the mo but could become useful in the future. The 4890 does have higher memory bandwidth, that's it's strong point. Any Corsair RAM is fine, this (Any corsair RAM is fine, this has a lifetime warranty too and is decent stuff.) has a lifetime warranty too and is decent stuff. Edit - CM make good PSUs too. The 550w Sol mentioned is very well priced. www.computerlounge.co.nz If you go for an Asus card you'll pay less for a 5770 too. Don't get a crap brand, stick with Asus or Gigabyte. |
