| 728226 | 2008-12-12 21:48:00 | As sad as it is with the family, It's their own fault for bringing their kids up and allowing them to do things like this. It's hard to say, but the less we have of these kids on the streets, the better, and this is a cold reminder on the extreme end of what can happen when things go wrong. The man's not guilty of anything. If they hadn't gone to grafitti the house in the first place this mess would never have started, and that's the core issue. LOL, snap! |

Just came back from a walk along Napiers Rotary Pathway out to the Fert works and back and passed this 12/13 YO maori kid standing on the edge of the pathway. As I walked passed him minding my own business looking strait ahead he said what are you looking at. I just ignored him and kept on walking. You should of heard all the verbal abuse I got. Another one heading for jail in future years. :) |

| 728232 | 2008-12-12 23:29:00 | Hindsight is a wonderful thing. A decision made by a person can be analysed over time and found to be wrong. But in the "agony of the moment" as it were we can all make decisions that affect our lives in a drastic manner. In my younger days I did things that were flat out wrong but I was sometimes caught by the local police officer. He would give me a boot and take me home to Dad who also supported the swift punishment handed out by using a razor strop as a cane. I do not think you could do that these days but it kept me out of borstal for which I thank the police and my Father. Keep an eye on your children and know where they are and what they are doing at all times. Teach respect. The JUSTICE system is really only a system of laws and does not deliver justice in my opinion. Last night I walked down the road and found a person lying in the gutter. I walked back home and phoned 111 and was answered by Police. I was told that the Police would meet me at the address given. After standing there for around 10-15 minutes no police arrived so I walked back home again and phoned 111 again. Later I went out to get some petrol in my car. Approximately 1.2 Km from my house I saw a police station wagon who slowed on my approach possibly to check my speed or seat belt or whatever. I was not stopped. After getting the petrol I travelled south on SH1 and saw another police car behind a vehicle pulled over. Turning right I found another police car around 800 meters from my home with a car pulled up. I might add that is the first time I have used the emergency number. The second person I spoke to said that the police may be busy and I guess they were. |
