728883 2008-12-14 08:37:00 A gift to myself is a used Nikon dSLR camera (4-5yr old D70) with a pretty good kit lens since I don't need low f# (aperture), I do landscapes, so now I have 2 same cameras to minimise lens swapping. It's my first mid zoom lens too. A better tripod mount, used again, Kirks L Bracket. 16GB Sandisk memory card (compact flash).

Plans - a family trip to the Te Anau and Queenstown staying at family rooms at a hostel - bunk beds non ensuite and bring along a food flash and a rice cooker to keep the cost down.

728884 2008-12-14 09:06:00 Food flash ;) I meant a food flask to keep it warm. Nomad (952)
728885 2008-12-14 09:12:00 Already bought - Asus N50Vc: 15.4" screen (LED), Core 2 Duo T9400, 320GB HDD, 802.11n, Bluetooth, 4GB RAM, 512Mb GeForce 9300M GS video card, built in webcam, Vista Ultimate (finaly bitten the bullet!)

After my 4 year old Tosh struggling on 1GB RAM with XP Pro, I don't know why I put up with it for so long!!

728887 2008-12-14 09:36:00 I just gave myself a three week tour of New Zealand.
I have no money for presents.
Either for myself or my rellies. Then again, I don't like most of them much.

728889 2008-12-14 10:14:00 I almost got a PC but I am delaying it. Still running a 2000 laptop, Pentium 3, 600Mhz, 320MB RAM ;) Will get a PC self built. Photography software is v slow on bro's PC - AMD Sempron 2500+, 512MB, builtin video.

I'm now hoping for end of 2009 for a more affordable 8 Core iCore setup. It will also mean I have used my laptop for a decade.

728891 2008-12-14 17:54:00 New MTB tyres for my bike, new computer for my bike to replace the one that went through the washing machine last week, second hand lcd for my workshop. Already bought 8 port switch and a 4 port switch/print server for the home network this year. gary67 (56)
