727326 2009-01-01 18:43:00 the average Aussie has been carrying more debt for years that is really prudent, and the current credit crunch has been a wake-up call that most Aussies can't ignore, especially since the job market is going soft at a frightening rate, .

Ditto New Zealanders and New Zealand.

727328 2009-01-02 03:31:00 I raise a glass to the good ol cars like the Hunter, Viva, Anglia, Oxford, Marina etc you did us proud.
And SJ would never have seen one

Yes I liked the Hillman Hunters - their front seats folded right back which was very handy if you had a willing g/f.

You did not include Cortinas and Escorts and Zephyr's !

727329 2009-01-02 03:35:00 A friend on mine is just back from the USA on holiday, where he is working. He says the average American is thinking that they all soon might be living in storage sheds ! !

The latest unemployment data for the US is 7% and 4,000,000.

It just goes to prove that you can't export all your factories to Asia and still have full employment. You can t all be rock stars or sports stars or movie stars. Somebody has to work and make something you can sell overseas.
