728491 2008-12-13 23:28:00 When any army engaged in a war writes a press release about it's boss, what do you think happens to scribes deemed a bit light on the glowing phrases? R2x1 (4628)

"Sri Lankan army is the largest employer in Sri Lanka. There are 10,000 vacancies each year !"

Does that mean there are 10,000 casualties each year ?

They have been fighting the Tamil Tigers now for years. Things seems to go in phases. One moment the Tamils are doing well, next the army is doing well. But like all ethnic, tribal, religious wars, insurrections, it will be hard to put down fully.

Mainly because Tamils look like Sri Lankans !

Also don't forget the Tamil navy (they do have one).

But they have set off bombs in Colombo.
