I remember a time when a Q6600 was only $280. I was waiting for it to drop even more. Well, not a chance. Now it's at $350. :(

Exactly.

Read that Panasonic (along with others) are putting their prices up (on tvs and such) because of the exchange rate. Not a good time to be buying or selling it seems.

Yes? And your point is? You must be very young if you haven't experienced a downturn in the dollar before.
Its 53c now, it was 78c.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 in Xmas times 317.93 exc.GSTThe price of ALL computer components have changed - its NOT because of Xmas - just yesterday I did some quotes for people - all the components have gone up, some by 1 or2 dollars, others by as much as $40.00 - $50.00. (wholesale)

As Pctek mentioned look at the exchange rate - and get used to it, its going to get worse before it gets better.
