731202 2008-12-20 21:34:00 Parents bought a 2nd hand Electrolux upright freezer.
Doesn't have anything to say what model.

It has an LED display, leftmost marked F with yellow LED, off.
Middle marked with a triangle symbol, red - on.
Rightmost S ? symbol Green, off.

Makes a whoosing? noise. Like wind. All the time.
Its cold and freezing OK apparently but they are worried about what the noise means.

Any ideas?

Unfortunately it doesn't. Its just a freezer, not a fridge/freezer and thats too modern - the LED is nothing like that.

Its not seals. Its cold and frosty. Maybe too cold - they have only had it plugged in a couple of days so we don't know that yet.

It took all thier money to buy it and their TV is being checked to see if its economic to repair as well - so I thought they might get a rough diagnosis here and save themsleves more money instead of getting a repair guy out.

Either its nothing major or it is. If it si then they might as well ditch it. IF not at least I could put her mind at rest.

731208 2008-12-21 03:26:00 I tried looking at heaps of different Electrolux manuals and couldn't find a red triangle in any one of them.

Just call and ask a service agent what it means? They shouldn't charge for that.

But they do charge just like Doctors.

You want a professional opinion then you pay for it.
