839987 2009-12-15 22:23:00 I have notice few days back and again yesterday when I was watching live Cricket match streaming over the internet(for free of-course). Even no upload was done from me (no p2p, no one else used computer yesterday other than email checking) , just watched live stream for say about 2 hours...
My download was 400 MB during that period and upload set up high at 600 mb for same duration.
Can anybody explain what is going on here ?
How does this Upload counted towards my data usage ?
I asked Orcon, then they say it is possible only when p2p or torrents are used, but in fact I do not use any of that.
I am confused here. !

839988 2009-12-16 03:08:00 I wouldn't be surprised to see the protocol being used requiring check/ack packets going upstream but I would be surprised if more went up than came down! linw (53)
839989 2009-12-16 03:15:00 I'd be pretty surprised if 6 megs went up - never mind 600!! bevy121 (117)

So u mean...
Upload is expected, but not larger than download megs ... ?

839991 2009-12-16 23:13:00 Normally the upload volume is waaaaaaaay less than the download.

Do a "Wiki" on download protocols :)

Yes. I would've expected in a typical situation with streaming media for upload data to be about 5% of the traffic. E.g. if it's 400MB download I'd look at about 21MB upload.

Interesting...
I will be inclined to download a 'bandwidth monitor' and see
where is the leak ?
I will monitor for few days and let u guys know .. say about Monday.
