I certainly notice a different distribution of coppers wielding radars in different suburbs, but I haven't seen them block off supermarket exits - have you actually seen that? |

| 730408 | 2008-12-20 19:56:00 | f1 cars have custom built cars with roll cage built to suit. full harness, helmets hans safety device etc etc. normal car has a pathetic little strap for a seatbelt, no roll cage, no helmets etc. crashing in a race car is nothing compared to a normal car. i much prefer hitting the wall in a race car at full noise than any minor accident in a normal car. I think we are all aware of the above,the point was,speed doesn't kill,misuse does. |

No you mean that they won't be able to spend the money on drugs and alcohol or other luxuries. Here in the UK if you don't have your Car tax (Rego) and Insurance up to date then your car can be crushed. Wife went pass a Police checkpoint the other day and they had brought along a Car transporter with them. A number of cars getting ready to be crushed. Also over here speed cameras are everywhere on my route to work which takes about 45 mins I pass five speed cameras, But all are visible and well sign posted, and most are placed near schools and other high risk areas. So as long as you are doing the correct speed through the cameras then you are fine. |

The car was sitting outside her property on the street where it always is as the flat has no on-site parking. She cycles to work so hasn't been driving around in the vehicle. The warrant expired three weeks ago but she hasn't been able to afford to get it renewed, having had to fork out $600 to have a cancerous melanoma removed and $300 dental work recently. Unfortunately she was too proud to ask for a loan and now her Xmas has been thoroughly spoilt, not to mention her hard-earned summer holidays. Hopefully the explanation letter sent to the council will reach a kind-hearted soul who will provide some lenience otherwise it will be a very painful lesson learnt. |

Its completely unfair on the rest of us who take the trouble to keep the car up to standard . On my street and others joining it I ring the council if I see any car permanently parked on the side of the road without wof and rego, missing number plate etc and they are towed the next day . |

You didn't see the news item from about 6 months ago on TV where several supermarket carparks in Mangere were blocked off so the tax gathers could have a field day?? |
