I'm not condoning speeding but I see them standing radar gun in hand at the bottom of hills in the richer suburbs all the time, but not the poorer suburbs. Gee I wonder why....? Thats true - a couple of weeks back when coming down the Wainui hill into wainui there was a cop with a hand held speed cam - right at the bottom of the hill it changes to 50K from 80K the cop was "hiding" behind the post that has directions. From Google maps View going up the Hill (www.imagef1.net.nz) its actually quite a bit steeper than that picture shows - but while they are correct about slowing down to 50K heres the other side of that sign Where the cop was hiding (www.imagef1.net.nz) So while legally yes you should have slowed down to 50K already, I don't know ANYONE who does, and that goes for just about any place in NZ that goes from 100/ 80 down to 50. Theres no school, only a Round About (www.imagef1.net.nz) at the end with flowers etc. |

Take my word for it,F1 drivers stop very quickly,so that can't be it!. f1 cars have custom built cars with roll cage built to suit. full harness, helmets hans safty device etc etc. normal car has a pathic little strap for a seatbelt, no roll cage, no helmets etc. crashing in a race car is nothing compared to a normal car. i much prefer hitting the wall in a race car at full noise than any minor accident in a normal car. |

T Because they block they off the supermarket car parks and check all the WOFs and Regos of the poor so that they will be poorer.. |
