| 730377 | 2008-12-19 02:16:00 | You show me that they are doing there best to reduce bad driving rather then simply hanging out where its easy pickings for tickets and I'll be satisfied they are doing the job they are meant to be doing. As far as fining a citizen $200 for an out dated license, that's disgusting. Did it make the world a better place to live in or is it just bully boys bringing in the dough? They must be too hardcore to just mention its something you will need to get sorted. Fine that man $1,000 for trying to be a smart ass!!! :punk:punk |

| 730379 | 2008-12-19 03:18:00 | My two-pennyworth - old (78) farming friend from the North Island and his wife took my wife and I across to the Coast in their fancy 4-wheel. Outside Murchison we four old codgers were stopped by a really nice young cop for doing nearly 120. Straight, empty road, miles from anywhere. He lectured us as though we were kids, gave the driver a verbal warning and sent us on our way. For a while I thought of writing to his boss to say what a nice guy he was, but then thought that I might get him in the crap for not writing a ticket....... Nice experience though. | Scouse (83) | ||
| 730380 | 2008-12-19 03:39:00 | Well the cops sometimes dont care at all :groan: NOW I'm bloody fuming - today of all days after getting the tickets yesterday I was driving down our main road at 50K :p about 5 or 6 cars ahead of me was a cop - the car in front of me stopped at the crossing to let a lady and a kid cross - all of a sudden some bloody IDIOT came out of now where from behind me swung in the left, straight past me and the other stopped car and damn near bowled the people crossing, he slammed on the breaks / smoke every where - the cop must have seen him but did nothing - the reason the idiot went past was he had this thing cut down couldn't hardly see over the steering wheel and was going like hell. | wainuitech (129) | ||
| 730381 | 2008-12-19 03:43:00 | What was the proof? A photo of your car with numberplate easy to read? At 2.5km away he must have great eyesite! Were you the only car on the road? yeah was the only one on the road LOL hence i put the boot in it a little i should buy a white commodore omega with standard issue steel cop wheels no frills and stick some blocks of white polystyrene in the windows and see what happens ;) was actually watching for mufti cops at the time and got snapped by a normal one instead :groan: |

And they can quickly nab anyone pushing their luck. Instead they use cameras hidden in vans on straight and safe lengths of road. Does that reduce crashes?, maintain standards?, or just roll in the cash baby? Low hanging fruit. And I'm sure most of us have been fobbed off when requiring police assistance for a minor matter, yet they always find time to write ya a damn ticket. |

You got to hit the clowns hard so you can get it in their thick heads its dangerous Speeders are potential killers with a vehicle instead of a bang stick. If I was justice minister I would fast track in laws for speeders causing injury/death a law called vehicular homicide with lock em up and throw away the key type sentences. |

Instead they use cameras hidden in vans on straight and safe lengths of road............. the stupid thing is a lot of the crashes ARE on safe straight lengths of road. if you ever saw the amount of white crosses on whangerai straights you wouldn't drive on it. ...... Speeders are potential killers with a vehicle instead of a bang stick. ...... yeah funny how everyone go nuts about a hunting accident or shooting but quite happly accepts a death on the road. kill someone with a gun and your in deap @#$, but kill them with a car and you get a slap with a wet bus ticket. that needs to change. |

Can't be more accurate I whole heartedly agree. The van down here with the camera is red and when they courier vans painted their red vans with a whit e roof the cops did the same to the camera van. |

It's true speeding recklessly is dangerous, but this doing 55 in the middle of knowhere is revenue gathering.. I am told that the cops are told the gather so much dosh every day. |
