There goes the beer fund for tomorrow night  I thought it would have been nice to have a warning or something, but I guess I wasnt drink driving or high or a repeat offender of any sort so they fined me. He was awfully nice about it though hahahahaha |

2008-12-18 18:42:00 | Well something is working now days on the NW motorway. A few years ago if you were doing 100kph on the motorway fast lane you would have caused a disturbance. People would be undertaking you left right and centre. Now you can drive 100kph in the fast lane with no problems. The reason is, you probaly wouldnt get from one end of the NW to the other without a ticket if you speed. The thing about tolerances are that people will push the envelope if they know they could drive at 106kph without getting a ticket they would drive at that speed. When they get caught at say 109kph they would whinge and say they were only doing 3kph over their tolerance. They want a tolerance on their tolerance but 109 kph is almost10% more than the limit. Remember the physics the faster the speed the bigger the mess. I expect other centres like Auckland have those boards which display your speed all a non numbnuts person has to do is look at sign look at speedo and check the difference. Its quite easy to opt out of traffic ticket revenue gathering and that is dont break the law and dont push the envelope

2008-12-18 19:23:00 | I see on TV last nite the latest revenue gathering thing. Spy planes to report back to a fleet of cars on the ground any motorist in their opinion that they can extract revenue from. I remember the MOT tried this back in late 80s and was found to be too expensive to maintain. Remember those white line on the main hiways that they used to time between two points then radio back to a ground car?? | paulw (1826) | |
2008-12-18 19:32:00 | They cant extract revenue from you for speeding if you dont speed. I know its a real radical concept and some people will find it hard to work out.

2008-12-18 20:17:00 | I recently bought a Tomtom gps unit for my vehicle. It warns me when I am within 280 metres from a school. I note also that I mentioned that you may have been near a school. My speedometer is not perfect either as at 100kmh on the speedo the GPS tells me I am doing 96kmh
