| 839298 | 2009-12-14 03:15:00 | Any nice new installation runs very fast, until we gradually slow things down by accumulating all sorts of program crap in our machines. :badpc: | Richard (739) | ||
| 839299 | 2009-12-14 03:37:00 | Actually, 7 is faster than windows xp simply because you can load it up with RAM, unlike XP (x64 XP wasnt crap) www.pcgameshardware.com Dragon Age: Origins - Which Windows is running faster? Dragon Age: Origins runs fastest under Windows XP. In the most popular resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels our test system (Core 2 Quad Q9650, P45, Geforce GTX 285, Geforce 191.07 WQHL, 2x 2048 GiByte DDR2-1066) reached 65 frames per second. With Windows 7 61 fps were reached. On the last place is Vista with 59 frames per second. This means: Like most DX9 games Dragon Age: Origins runs best under windows XP. In direct comparison Windows 7 is about 3 percent faster than Vista 64. |

| 839302 | 2009-12-14 08:18:00 | Does Windows 7 run faster than Windows XP? Would using Windows 7 improve the handling of games? Is Windows 7 more secure than Windows XP? Is Windows 7 better than Windows Vista? The reason I am asking the above questions is I'm considering upgrading from Windows XP home to something a bit more up to date. YES four times. |
