| 729966 | 2008-12-17 17:56:00 | Why do we love Nelson? www.sanza.co.uk Sorry mate that's made in Auckland has been for a long time. For Nelson you need to go to any of the following Founders brewery, lighthouse, Harringtons (Sprig & fern pubs), Bays, or the new Golden Bear in Mapua. |

I have to confess, I am a Westie from days before we were called "Westie". I escaped from Auckland in 1963. As they say... "See NZ first" and Napier was a early stop on a world tour - met SWMBO and never got any further!! A wonderful place to be over the last 45 years. Ken |

| 729972 | 2008-12-18 05:32:00 | I used to like Nelson when I lived there. It was warm without that nasty sticky sweaty heat Auckland has. But frosty in winter. And it was pleasant then, we wandered around all over the place and it was all very peaceful and enjoyable. Nowdays its starting to resemble Queenstown a bit with motels jammed together all the way down....and cafes stuffed in all over the place. And of course house prices went crazy, more crazy than a lot of other places. Pity. Queenstown is a real pity; I remember going there for holidays as a kid (it's where my family was originally from). Now it's full of drunks and other people with no connection to the place; they're only there for 6 months so don't really care about it. A town with the population of Gore and it has traffic jams! It's location just can't support the number of people and it's getting ruined =( |
