2009-12-13 04:59:00 | When trying to login to Windows XP Pro with one of the profiles i get the error : "Windows cannot log you on because your profile cannot be loaded. Check that you are connected to the network, or that your network is functioning correctly. If this problem persists, contact your network administrator. DETAIL - Incorrect function. " Then it just flips you back to login screen The laptop is not on the network and so all accounts can login fine locally. Its only this profile which prevents me from logging on Is there anything i can do to resolve this. I dont want to reset the profile or just create a new one and copy over the docs. Thanks

To run system restore,Have a read of this (www.microsoft.com) - about half way down the page ( being to lazy to type it all out) :) |

2009-12-13 19:07:00 | Is there an Event ID for it in the event logs? Could check out this (www.microsoft.com) but not sure it'll help much for your specific error. I'd look at permissions issues or file corruption. Have you recently made any changes to your PC, installed any software etc - including using any "registry cleaners" etc?

2009-12-13 20:18:00 | I'd just login as admin and take ownership of the files to place in another location, same with favourites, and e-mail etc, wipe account and start again. A corrupted profile will give you no end of problems. | SolMiester (139) | |

2009-12-14 04:28:00 | thanks the event ID is :1500. Source - Userenv Inphinity - Infact i did make one change before having issues. Using Admin account I took ownership of that profile folder and all sub folders as i wanted to back it up and and it was denying access during copy. It worked fine as i was able to copy all after changing permissions.
