| 838985 | 2009-12-12 20:26:00 | Hi, I need a replacement CD-RW/DVD Drive (GCC-424IN?) for an old IBM Thinkpad Model R51. I have fired off a few emails to various places that Google search has thrown up but would be interested in any suggestions. tks |

AFAIK the Thinkpad parts should be relatively easy to find because current or in the past with the "lines" of models - they are sharable with all the Thinkpad models. Unless the R series is different, all the drives are hot swappable and swappable to other model as well. One of the advantages of Thinkpad. Think they are called the Ultrabay series. |
