841174 2009-12-19 19:58:00 After windows updates updated my display driver, nvidia control panel and ATI tool stopped working.

I always get this message when trying to open the driver display panel:
The NVIDIA Display Control Panel extention cannot be created.
Possible reasons include:
Version mismatch. Reinstalling drivers may solve the problem.

AtiTool:
The Kernal Mode Driver does not seem to be running.
A device driver is required for communication with your video hardware.

Did Windows update installed the wrong driver (133mb file) ? I've tried downloading the driver from NVIDIA Driver Downloads but there is no drivers for GTX 280 Win7 64bit OS. Does GTX 280/275/260 use the same driver?

841175 2009-12-19 20:10:00 I wouldnt trust WU's drivers (altho some drivers do work). Is this the card ? (www.nvidia.com). If it is there are drivers (www.nvidia.com) Speedy Gonzales (78)

841177 2009-12-19 20:18:00 Here (www.nvidia.com). It says 64 bit at the top. I would roll back / or uninstall the drivers you installed from WU before you install the Nvidia drivers Speedy Gonzales (78)
841178 2009-12-19 21:15:00 Just installed it and Nvidia control panel works but ATItool doesnt - still comes up with the same msg whellington (15030)
841179 2009-12-19 21:24:00 Dont use ATItool. Not much you can do, if it doesnt work. Did you remove the drivers you downloaded from WU? Speedy Gonzales (78)
