I must admit, I don't like Harvey normans service. Legally, if they have a price match policy, then they have to stand by that policy, and the Commerce Commission would probably be interested if they didn't.

And the newer 360s have fewer problems. My 360 (made in 2005) just got the RROD (on xmas day :() but man did it last well. Still under the 3 year warranty tho.

Also, just one thing with DSE, they tried to sell us their 3 yr warranty and I told the guy MS extended it from 1 yr to 3 and all the guys there were like "first of heard of that". Be careful, they'll say anything to get you to buy their extended warranty ($60)

Sure it's been mentioned here before, but it bears repeating - extended warranties are a load of old cobblers. Everything they provide is already covered under the Consumer Guarantees Act.

732920 2008-12-29 05:23:00 If Billy does read this can you please tell me what are the laws around Closing Down sales?
Or where I can find out.
There is a furniture shop here that has been advertising as 'Closing Down' for about 6 months now, could be longer. Just how long can they go on for?
I can understand that they could be just trying to get rid of existing stock but I have been in there a few times and the stock levels don't seem to be going down, with new stuff showing up in the show room as well.

Cuz I ALWAYS see that ad for the "CLOSING DOWN SALE" "LAST CHANCE" "BE IN QUICK" at some furniture or rug place.
