2008-12-29 20:21:00 | You're all cynics!!! :D bierhausdog has been a member since July 2008, so looks to be legit. I would be more suspicious if he joined December 2008. But I thought you had to be a NZ resident to trade on TradeMe? The bidder's location is listed as Australia...

2008-12-29 20:27:00 | Nope, I've bought stuff off TM before that was in Australia. The $10ish shipping fee sucks tho. | --Wolf-- (128) | |

2008-12-30 03:00:00 | www.trademe.co.nz Looks like a jack up alright. Is it just me or has he gone and bidded on top of himself 3 times?

2008-12-30 03:10:00 | more like hunting for the reserve.... | johcar (6283) | |
2008-12-30 04:36:00 | Is it just me or has he gone and bidded on top of himself 3 times? It will show up like that if a bidder has an auto bid. When another user bids, but an exisiting autobid is higher, then the other bidder isn't listed. Makes it look like a bidder is out bidding themselves. Bid. Yeah, one more time... bidder. :P

2008-12-30 09:22:00 | Why not make your own fake account and keep bidding? until he won't outbid you any more. Then ask for your bid to be removed, saying that you refuse to buy the item if he doesn't remove your bid and you win. Then forcing him to win his own auction, and incurring him a nice big success fee to himself... | Agent_24 (57) | |
2008-12-30 20:57:00 | Then forcing him to win his own auction, and incurring him a nice big success fee to himself... But they can then get the sales fees returned if the auction does not sell.

2008-12-30 21:19:00 | Yes it does happen, I had a guy that seem to have about 1/2 a dozen ghost bidders. When he was selling a lot of the same item these ghost bidders would push the price to just under reserve. Set the reserve where he wants it and "bing" money for jam. No sale only pay the listing fee. There are a lot of rouges on Trademe, just check out the new computer gear, prices are cheaper on the internet (see Pricespy). It amazes me how many people don't do there homework. And of course there is a lot of stolen goods being pushed. Me, I've stop using it.
