| 732855 | 2008-12-31 09:52:00 | Makes zero difference I'm afraid . Under the OSH a . . . . . . Auto-closing gates for a start and constant monitoring of stock . Extreme, but the OSH act is open ended . Alas, OSH as well as being in the throes of terminal stupidity are enamoured of the idea that employers, (or anyone in their sights) is a bottomless pit of money and resources that can be squandered on trivia . If all the signs that OSH have mandated could be placed side by side and pushed forcibly up where they would do the most good, they would not be enough . Workshops now have so many warning signs they are a distraction hazard . |

Your welcome to spend a few days with me doing some high risk work so you can witness some stunts people (even experienced people who should know better, Though that's half the problem, they think they know better) pull when left to their own devices. The change in work practises and attitude that have taken place in the building industry over the last decade is a positive change, No doubt about it. You would be a mug to claim otherwise, an ignorant mug. I seem to remember that you used to be a certified maniac on a motor cycle. How do you equate that and osh policy |

But at least that way he can prevent someone else from getting hurt. You were going too fast for the conditions. You are supposed to be able to stop in half the clear distance ahead of you. IMHO Your in the wrong not the sheep or farmer. |
