2008-12-30 04:02:00 I have to sell my mother's diamond ring. She had it valued in Tauranga 10 years ago. The valuation was $10000. and the US exchange rate of 0.47 was quoted. My questions are :- is the value related to the US $ exchange rate and can anyone reccomend an honest dealer in Auckland. Most public have to rely on the honesty of the dealer as unless a person is very experienced they all look similar. Any info appreciated. gradebdan (2186)
2008-12-30 04:15:00 Contact Bill Palmer at Advanced Gem Laboratory, 155 Queen St Auckland. He will advise the best way to go about selling and will do a valuation and a SALE valuation for you for a reasonable fee if you require this. I have known Bill for many years, and he has done valuations on our own stuff. You will find him to be scrupulously honest and staightforward. They probably have a web site you can check. Send him an initial enquiry by e-mail. Richard (739)
2008-12-30 04:20:00 Just checked and they do have a web site. This will give you all the info you need to start your sale proceedings. Cheers Richard (739)
2008-12-30 04:48:00 Thanks Richard for that info.
Will pursue after the hols. Presumably they will recomend an honest buyer.
