841996 2009-12-21 19:00:00 Since installing Win 7 we've had the slideshow gadget running (don't think its called sidebar anymore, but do'nt know what its called now) anyway, we used to be able to click on the button and open the displayed picture full screen. Now whenever we click on the button we get a message that says "unspecified error" and the picture doesn't display. other than that the gadget runs fine, changing images every 15 seconds or whatever as it always has. I've closed the gadget, restarted windows, restarted the gadget, but still the same thing.

this is the default slideshow gadget that installs with win7.

Cheers,
Mike.

841998 2009-12-21 21:54:00 Has the folder it is referring to been moved or deleted?

Try in it's settings to point it to another folder of images, does it work then?

842000 2009-12-22 03:20:00 Folders haven't changed for months, and the gadget has worked fine up until now (well a few days ago). The images all exist (they are displayed by the gadget, just not when I want to open it properly), so the paths must work ok. Same thing happens no matter what picture I'm trying to open - there are many folders displayed by the gadget, and they all have the same error appear when I try to open one of the pictures.

Cheers,
Mike.

842002 2009-12-22 03:59:00 Try reinstalling the gadget (download it afresh) - it might be corrupted...It comes with Windows - not sure if it can be downloaded separately, but I'll have a look.

842003 2009-12-22 04:16:00 Well I've got it working properly again. It wasn't a problem with the gadget, it seems, but an issue with the default viewer. I reset the default viewer for jpg files etc., and its now working again :D

Thanks all for your help and suggestions

Mike.
