841603 2009-12-21 02:33:00 Dear all,
I'm trying to setup a broadband connection at my friend's place. I have successfully setup everything, but I noticed that the Internet disconnects routinely whenever it is not in use. I entered the router IP to check the connection status and I noticed that under the "DSL Connection" heading, the Internet status says "disconnected". I tried to click "connect", but the page stalls subsequently. Is there any way that the auto-disconnection feature can be disabled? The router model is the Telecom white.

Cheers :)

841604 2009-12-21 02:49:00 Any signs of overheating?

Can you give us the exact model number of the router?(Thompson 5XXvX?)

Tried looking for any newer firmware updates etc?

841605 2009-12-21 03:37:00 There may be a default option within the router setup that disconnects after so many minutes of not in use.
The 2 Dynalinks I've had, each had default settings of 20 minutes, which had me perplexed for a while as the setting was a bit obscure to find.

All good :)
