733517 2009-01-10 04:33:00 I quite like my ipod, but I have found it unreliable - a couple of times a month it locks up & I have to let the battery run down before it will fix itself.

I don't like the fact that itunes doesn't have watch folders functionality (unless you let it manage your entire music collection & rearrange it how it likes it) so I use winamp.

The rest of my family have iPods of one sort or another and the main draw back of them all seems to be the sound quality isn't very good, certainly not when compared to the Sony. The iPod hard drive models don't seem to last very long either, however on the plus side they often break down before the warranty has run out so you go in and get a new one.

Oh, I dear say there are more satisfied users of itunes then there are dissatisfied. So only troublesome for a few

Thats because people are blinded by the word apple and ipod.
People are being blinded by apple products

I would certainly look at other brands and not limit yourself and dive into buying an ipod.

733519 2009-01-10 06:02:00 Ok guys, I’ve bitten the bullet and settled on a Sony Walkman NWZ-E436F (4gig), $A109 on special.

Anyway, I’ve copied all my MP3’s over and it goes like a rocket. The Sound Quality is unbelievable and the search functions everything you could ask for. Even the FM Radio has excellent quality and sensitivity.

However, I haven’t worked out how to transfer my playlists. The hard copy instruction folder and the PDF Manual are both very vague on the subject.

I took the playlists from windows Media Player 9 and saved them, but don’t know what to do with them. There is no folder called Playlists on the Walkman to copy them too.

Anyone any suggestions? :thanks

Yep, shuffles good but on the computer I've go playlists like Country, Comedy, Jazz, Opera, and so on so I can listen to whatever genre I feel like.
