733507 2009-01-06 03:58:00 Ahhhhhh, what’s the hang-up with the video, not that it’s terribly important?

However, the Bluetooth interests me. Do the later models have normal headphones as well as Bluetooth?

I downloaded a couple of free software to convert my video files into the formats that should play on the device according to the user manual. Some of the files play (and the video quality is AWESOME) but the others don't, don't know if that's something to do with codec etc (I used the same settings when converting files).

I don't know if the bluetooth ones (A series) come with normal headphones as well. Have a look on SONY NZ website. Bluetooth ones are over $100 more expensive.

733508 2009-01-09 07:37:00 Hmmmm, well I know next to nothing about these things but I have been told by quite a few to go iPod.

However, I’ve also been told that they won’t play standard MP3’s (of which I have about 1000 on computer) and all music has to be purchased off iTunes?

Anyone care to straighten me out on the facts about these things? :thanks

You can drag standard MP3's into Itunes from your PC and they will transfer and play just fine on the Itouch. You can also pay for MP3's or Music Vids if you so desire through Itunes. Some people think they can't use there current MP3 collection, this is false, you can.

Music Vids/TV/Movies in formats like Divx does need to be converted (re-encoded) to MP4 or a few other compatible formats.

Applications and games for the Itouch can be downloaded through Itunes or direct through the net if your using Wifi from the Itouch itself. Many of these Applications and games are free (obviously many are pay but most are at a very reasonable price like $5).

My advice if your interested, search "Ipod Touch" & "Ipod touch apps" on Youtube there are 100's of vids showing what they can do.

733509 2009-01-09 08:11:00 To be honest

I wouldn't choose an Ipod.It has pretty bad sound quality and they break alot not to meantion the troublesome Itunes you have to go thru to put music on

733510 2009-01-09 08:19:00 Well no you dont have to use Itunes for Ipods .

There are other programs, you can use them with (ie: Winamp, mediamonkey, Yamipod, to name a few)

733515 2009-01-10 00:06:00 I quite like my ipod, but I have found it unreliable - a couple of times a month it locks up & I have to let the battery run down before it will fix itself.

I don't like the fact that itunes doesn't have watch folders functionality (unless you let it manage your entire music collection & rearrange it how it likes it) so I use winamp.
