734558 2009-01-03 09:35:00 i would call a PCI BUS a connection in a pc not to a pc though... pcuser7895 (12979)
734559 2009-01-03 19:20:00 Hey, Question 4
USB is a connector to a PC but then again a BUS is a connector to a PC, ever heard of the PCI BUS? or even the universal serial bus? and then there is that 9 pin SUB connector that connects your comport.
Weird huh!

Yeah but they meant peripherals. And com ports aren't really used much now. Everythings USB - cameras, keyboards, printers etc.

Who is "they" and how do you know what "they" meant?
But I hear what your saying. The universal serial BUS is in more use that the comm port for consumers. Where I work the comm port still takes a thrashing...

734561 2009-01-04 07:25:00 Does the subwoofer count as a speaker in 5.1 systems? IF the marketing is to believed, the subwoofer isn't a speaker (always marketed as 5 speakers plus a sub)

Of course it does. The .1 means its not a full range channel, but it still needs a speaker to enable you to hear it.

I presume it is treated differently as the main speakers don't carry the LF signal and vice versa.

734563 2009-01-04 07:34:00 I knew them all. Number 2 is a strange question, I guess the answer they were after was 'aspect ratios'. I say it's a strange question because 'letterboxing' refers to the 4:3 aspect ratio, while 'pan and scan' is a technique to stretch a 4:3 image into a 'square' display without distorting the image, but 'cutting off' the sides, slightly. Usually just enough to obscure the score of a rugby game from view.

See what I mean, strange.

734567 2009-01-04 12:22:00 A BUS is more like a DATA connection, not a device connection. Rob99 (151)
