733487 2008-12-30 02:54:00 Hmmmm, well I know next to nothing about these things but I have been told by quite a few to go iPod.

However, I’ve also been told that they won’t play standard MP3’s (of which I have about 1000 on computer) and all music has to be purchased off iTunes?

Anyone care to straighten me out on the facts about these things? :thanks

733488 2008-12-30 02:55:00 Which program are you using at the moment to manage your music?

iTunes will convert any MP3's (I think) for you. Not sure about WMA though

Not all music needs to be bought from iTunes. You can rip CDs if you want too or drag music from My Music into iTunes.

Ipods are great . I got a 3rd gen 4gb last year, and I've never regreted it once . Thinking of getting an iPod touch now . I have music ripped from cd's and they work . This is an extract from here about the new nano: ( . apple . com/nz/ipodnano/specs . html" target="_blank">www . apple . com)

733492 2008-12-30 04:59:00 The headphones you use make more of a difference than the player in my opinion, but I do find mp3 players don't sound good plugged into my home Amp with my big Mission speakers gary67 (56)

The ipod touch if you've got the cash though
