733365 2008-12-30 19:22:00 I'm enjoying my holiday in hong kong right now, so I haven't been posting much lately.B

Might start regularly posting again on the 11th when I arrive in Auckland.
Anyways, enough about my holidays, back to the point of this post:

I saw a 160gb 2.5" external hard drive (seagate with some case, transcend or something) retailing in a shop for about 400HK dollars, equivalent to about 80NZ dollars.

If I took 5 over to NZ to sell on trademe (make a bit of pocket money, fund raising for a bigger HDD:p) how much tax would I be charged?

Or where could I find out?

Cheers and happy holidays!

Maybe you should of spent time looking on pricespy where you will find 160GB drives 2.5" are only $90.

When I was there 3 months ago I couldn't find any computer parts worth purchasing.

733366 2009-01-01 08:20:00 Porkster-The drive I saw was 80NZ dollars but that was only one shop, there are millions in hong kong, today I saw a 320gb drive retailing for just 105NZ Dollars.

I would probably make more money selling those ones.

BTW the 90 dollar 160gb drives on Pricespy are actually 3.5" and not 2.5".
The cheapest 2.5" is $95

Oh, and greg-if you look closely at my first post, I was asking for information on how much tax I would be charged, and I wasn't trying to "circumvent" NZ laws. Everybody else replied ways to get past customs.

Please read before you post :annoyed:

Cheers
