734223 2009-04-07 10:07:00 My lighting at home must suck. Photos without flash fail to show the filth, Photos with flash fail to show the desktop... so neither photo is much use.
Ok, my camera is old tech too. And I can't be bothered to photoshop either image to bring out the detail.

Reckon I can out-filthy the worst of you though.

Picture for yourselves... remnants from a snack on a previous night. Beside that... remnants of a snack on another night... beside that... more snack remnants. These are not necessarily from the last 3 nights. They may be much older. I clean up once mold starts to appear.... sometimes earlier than that if I start to have difficulty breathing through all this filth..

A desktop with 69 icons dated between 2003 and 2008. 145 icons in total.

And piles of unfinished paperwork. My existence seems to be just one continuum (spelling?) of unfinshed work.

The only thing that keeps my desk anywhere near tidy is the fact that the mouse requires a bit of flat clear space in order to function, and I need some space to put my food and booze.

Desk is home-made, unfinished, and propped up on beer crates, coz I needed to use it before figuring out how I wanted the legs. That was about 5 years ago... still no closer to making legs.
Have since bought more materials to build the next desk / cabinet for all the gear.... but that has been on the drawing board for over 2 years, without a single hole being drilled.

The hardware is a) Win 98 P3 500 Mhz (primary machine for 99% of work)
b) AMD ~2200Mhz XP accessed via KVM switch (wouldn't be without a KVM)
b) is for games, multimedia and archiving.
The next games machine is certainly on the wish list, but I'm 1) too tight, and 2) unhappy with the state of multicore hardware and software currently, so the next gaming beast is probably still 12 months or more off in the future.

Also have a MAME cabinet that is practically unused. I built it years ago, but have one minor wiring fault discovered years ago, and no progress since in correcting it. Have made it so that controllers (buttons / joysticks / trackballs) are modular units that can be simply unplugged and slid in/out as needed. Might use it one day...
Think Tetris is good? Try Klax for a simple game that can swallow up hours.

Strange how this has been such an enjoyable and heavily used thread.
