734348 2009-01-02 06:18:00 I bought David Attenborough's "Planet Earth" 5 disc set in Blu-Ray for Christmas. Well, what really happened was that I had been given a few Whitcoulls vouchers and I just made up the $20 difference.

The box set cost $99, less their special discount of $30. People have talked about the quality and how wonderful Blu-Ray is and my opinion is just that. - It is stunning!!!

Price of Blu-Ray discs is the only problem but at $70 for a 5 disc set, I suppose the price wasn't bad. At least comparable to SD DVDs.

I played it on a PS3 via HDMI to a 32" Phillips LCD.

That is my lot though. I only am interested in Doco stuff and that is the only BD doco I have seen.

So, if you are looking at Blu-Ray for a brilliant razor sharp picture, and haven't made up your mind...

Go to it!!!!!!!

That's fine too!
At 32" or even 42" you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between a 720p picture and a 1080p picture. Unless your nose is touching the screen :p

nope

1. u are so close to the screen that everything is a blur
2. u won't c much of the screen
the blur+ squinting+ plus a normal 1080i TV will have 100Hz so evry thing will be too fast+ the backlight will be too strong and you will be blind!

now u can't even tell which tv is the 720p and which is the 1080i

734354 2009-01-02 08:48:00 just adding u will also die of anger and crush both TVs after the above has happened pcuser7895 (12979)

734356 2009-01-02 19:42:00 Great about the smoking. I quit in the '80s after 30 or so years of 40/50 a day of the foul things. I started at 11 and within a year was on 10 a day. Normal behaviour in those days when smoking was accepted by society.

I have always paid myself a small weekly allowance - cigarette money - to keep me off them. This has funded my earlier photography hobby then computers.

Keep at it!! :banana:banana
