736887 2009-01-10 06:22:00 According to stuff.co.nz (www.stuff.co.nz) our exchange rate against the US dollar must have dropped quite considerably suddenly.

$507 million Kiwi dollars to a paltry $3 million US?

Now I'll never be able to afford that new lcd screen.

Gotta love typos..

$3M US is about $5.07M NZ NOT $507M!

That'd be about right, it seems to be trading in the 0.58c to 0.60c range at the moment. It has been lower, in the last couple of months, down to 0.55c, from memory. But I think that the recent rise, is not so much a perception of a stronger NZ economy, more a realisation of a weak US economy.

736891 2009-01-11 04:19:00 I realise that, heh. Perhaps I should have made myself more clear. The post was more about the drastic differences a simple little typo can make, rather than about actual cash rates.. The arrow kind of missed the target :p

My bad.
