736716 2009-01-09 12:05:00 Just reading this:

www.nzherald.co.nz

It says that repeated access of copyrighted material will result in your internet connection being given the chop when the new laws come in.

How much is 'repeated'? We get down around 6-8gb a day of copyrighted material, too much?

736719 2009-01-09 19:30:00 I'm not up to date with this issue....can someone tell me how the ISPs can tell what we are downloading or websites we are visiting? I thought our bits were private?

By bits I mean data by the way. ;)

736720 2009-01-09 19:37:00 I dont see any ISPs willing to chop their customers internet connection at all, I mean if your business relies on you keeping your customers, who would want to risk losing customers??? ronyville (10611)
736721 2009-01-09 19:59:00 Let's all report the gummint for copyright issues.

No proof needed!

They have no more rights than any of us individuals!

It might teach them about agreeing to stupid legislation!

Scenario..... "Sorry, Prime Minister. Can't send your emails. Our ISP has been informed we are in breach of copyright and have closed our service."

736722 2009-01-09 20:02:00 Apparently most of the MPs don't even know that the law exists! Nermal (7077)

Well, I understand we are covered by a privacy law and will only be looked into if we are suspected of doing something illegal.

But wouldn't this law force ISPs to actively do the same thing to every one of its customers? Wouldn't it greatly expand workload on the ISPs?
