It says previous balance including Gst. I would expect the $300 be the november bill that is left to pay but wait my november bill was $110 so whats $299?

The $300 is actually PAYMENTS RECEVIED + CREDITS APPLIED - PREVIOUS BALANCE BROUGHT FORWARD = $300

Here's the confusing part. One would expect previous balance means the amount owe from the last bill but it actually means credit.

Previous balance and previous balance brought forward isn't the same thing but sounds the same?

Last months bill came to $155.78 but it doesn't state that it will be deducted from the credit of $300 which means I have to pay $155.68

This is an extremely confusing statement don't you think?

What I owe should be shown clearly and what credits that I have should also been stated clearly.

As well as that the total bill should be

(Credit)$299.97

-(Dec Spent) $155.78

= $144.19

736173 2009-01-08 18:20:00 It is a bit confusing but I would just look at the Total Due at the bottom, ($155.78), and assume the brackets mean that you are in credit so they owe you money  CYaBro (73)
736174 2009-01-08 20:15:00 The worst invoice layout I get on a regular basis is the Telecom invoice. I'd say they were designed by a three-year-old, but that's just insulting to three-year-olds. I've given up trying to understand them... johcar (6283)

Brackets mean its credit.
You don't owe anything.

I came to the same conclusion.

You had a credit balance of $299.97 cr
You have a debit of $144.19 dr
Remaining credit $155.78 cr

I wonder who designed that invoice/statement.

Thats nothing compared to the ACC invoices that they send out. The IRD GST statements aren't much better.

736179 2009-01-09 00:45:00 i never knew credits would been in brackets. I thought credits would be shown as a negative balance? Ninjabear (2948)
