| 735267 | 2009-01-06 02:56:00 | Am I right in thinking that if you have a TV with an integrated Freeview tuner, it is not possible to record any of the Freeview channels (TV6 etc.) to a standard HDD recorder or VCR? It seems to me that unless the TV has some sort of video out, it's not going to happen, and the TVs I've seen don't have that. Following on from that, are there HDD recorders that will record Freeview? (ignoring MySky, which is a different topic). Or do I have my knickers totally in a twist? (not for the first time...) |

Correct. Although most of those TV's with the integrated Freeview tuner will have an AV output (RCA - yellow, white & red) and you could record whatever is showing on the TV at the time. This won't give you HD however, only SD. There are Freeview|HD recorders available now (or will be shortly) that will record in HD as well as SD. It's called MyFreeview|HD (www.freeviewnz.tv) There is also a non-Freeview approved (www.freeviewshop.co.nz) option but you have to use your own USB HDD. |
