i have finished building my PC and have successfully installed the new OS ( vista with a free upgrade which i haven't installed yet as i have to order it ) but when i installed all of the updates through windows update something went wrong with the Ethernet driver and now i cant connect to the internet ( i am using my other PC ) not only that i cant seem to find a restore point before the updates were installed and now i have no idea how to solve this issue any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Install the LAN drivers from the cd the mobo came with. And dont forget to install the inf / chipset drivers first. DON'T install any drivers from windowsupdate. Some arent reliable. Thats why drivers COME on the CD. And why theyre on the mobo maker's site |

should i uninstall the old faulty drivers first and if so how do i do this? |

No just reinstall the LAN drivers, (from the mobo CD), they should install over whats installed. Do the same for the sound. Install the chipset drivers first |

Thats right, chipset / inf drivers first, then it may need a reboot, then install the LAN and sound/audio drivers |
