| 842803 | 2009-12-24 19:36:00 | I now have a Gigaset sx 763 (branded Orcon) router.USB connection. Just wondering what the general opinion of this is. I am reasonably happy with it. Since I have had it I have not been dumped. With 3 Belkin and 1 Billion routers I was being dumped several times a day. I have noticed my download speed seems to be capped. (orcon say it is not). My DSL test tells me I am downloading at 3000 kbps and uploading at 680 kbps. These figures vary only slightly regardless of what time I test. Day or night. With previous routers my d/l was averaging above 3500 kbps but uploads were usualy below 600 kbps. Orcon charges $5 a month for it which seems reasonable to me. I can not find this model for sale and am wondering what it retais for. |

If you're doing basic browsing and not loading it up, it should be reliable enough, but at $5 a month it's cheaper than actually purchasing a router for say $200... Unless you get something like the NB6Plus4WN for $140-ish. You should be able to do a factory reset by pressing the button underneath it which appeared (for me at least) to remove the restrictions imposed by Orcon on it, such as with VoIP provider and using the USB port etc. I'd be keen to know if yours works likewise :) |

I have the option of wireless or USB |
