| 736559 | 2009-01-09 00:21:00 | Just read something interesting on the MS site - Anyone wanting the Beta better not muck around saying it can wait till next week etc. The Windows 7 Beta is going to be available download-only (we’re not sending out physical media) and available for a limited time to the first 2.5 million people who download the beta. ONLY 2.5 million downloads - may sound a lot, but if its as popular as every ones making out that will clock very quickly. Lets hope MS's servers can handle the sudden influx of downloads. |

Yeah, I'd sign up as soon as possible. I got my product key from MSDN within a couple of minutes of it being posted (I was reloading the page over and over during CES :p) but apparently they've (temporarily) run out of keys now! VMWare or Virtual PC will work I think. Not sure about any others. Officially VMware doesn't support 7. Unofficially they say to use the Server 2008 guest option. |
