736384 2009-01-12 03:27:00 I'm just getting an error when I'm downloading it - might be because of restrictions at work. Might try again at home tonight. How big is the ISO?
2.6 Johno.

That is 32 bit.

736385 2009-01-12 03:39:00 the guy at the computer shop seemsd to think that win 7 used a whole lot more system resource than vista Well last night thought Id do a bit of a test with W7 - doing a bit of video editing on the workshop PC- W7 handled it OK (some what slow due to its low specs) but didn't freeze up.
Opened IE, and looked on here, tried downloading Spyware terminator to install on it as well, all at the same time - handled it no problems at all.

Vista on the exact same PC - doing the video editing - try opening ANY other app it it promptly freezes and locks solid.

Just timed it this morning -From Completely off to being able to open a browser / Folders - W7 loads approx 20 seconds faster on the same PC that has Vista.

736390 2009-01-12 22:22:00 I downloaded the x86 and x64 iso's last night .

Installed x86 this morning

I didnt have any blank DVD's, so I used Poweriso, and created a virtual cd, (from XP) added the x86 iso to it .

Installed it . I thought it would screw up after it rebooted . But nope, it was fine . Waited for it to finish, activated it .

Had a bit of a prob installing the sound / network drivers for it tho .

Since Nvidia didnt make any Vista drivers for the Nforce 3/4 chipset . BUT I found a link on the Wikipedia site (The link about Nforce, it had a link to beta drivers) . Sweet . Installed the chipset / LAN / audio drivers, no prob at all

Sound, LAN, goes . set up the network .

Must say its pretty fast, even tho the system is an AMD 754 running at 1 . 6 GHZ, with 1 . 25 GB ram

I had a folder on the partition, with 3 files in it, before I installed Win7 beta .

Thought it would disappear after I had finished, nope it didnt . The folder was still there after the install
