Does the BIOS have a temperature reporting item in the setup menu?
What is your laptop brand and model?

-My fan is working and (((not sure its free of dust)))

-BIOS dosent have a temperature reporting item

-HP Pavilion dv5-1209ax Entertainment Notebook PC (Purchased 6 months ago)

and Tomorrow Ill go and get a cooling pad,

Does Catalyst Control Center report any temperature readings?

843310 2009-12-27 05:15:00 I guess they are correct then, but they are pretty toasty... might just be the unfortunate design of the laptop... Agent_24 (57)

843312 2009-12-27 07:14:00 If they didn't overheat before and did now, the problem might be dust. Laptops have a habit of sucking it in and getting clogged up with it.

Some are worse than others, depends how the air intake is designed and what you are sitting it on most of the time.

If that was your CPU temperature then I would advise you get a better cooling solution, as high eighty degrees for a CPU is bad. If it was your GPU (video card) temperature then I wouldn't be surprised, though.

Currently my CPU is idle at 26°C but video card is 50°C

My idle core temps are in the 40's. GPU in sixties.
And I am using water cooling
And Intel tell me 90 is the maximum safe core temp.
My cpu, as distinct from core temp, is 30.

843313 2009-12-27 10:05:00 90°C might be when it melts but high 80's is pretty close... If you're on water cooling it should be better than that, surely??? Agent_24 (57)
