736971 2009-01-10 17:02:00 OK - I looked and need to ask a few questions .

What value is this to me? Seriously! I like the way it looks, but is it another nearly-vertical learning curve?

Is it just another pretty face, - so-called competition for Vista or 7 - or is it just some gingerbread for the eyes?

I would like to hear that it can speed things up, works with all the things I currently like to use (in FF and Google), and that it will lower the impact on my RAM and HDDs, etc .

736972 2009-01-10 19:39:00 That feature of dragging a tab to the top of the screen is so interesting:cool:

Interesting to see where Google is ultimately heading with Chrome?

736973 2009-01-10 20:06:00 SurferJoe,

Of all the browsers, Ive found Chrome to be the easiest to use!
Looking to type in a URL? Use the Address Bar
Looking to search Google? Type your query into the address bar
Looking to search your history? Type your query into the address bar
Looking to search other sites such as TradeMe or IMDB? Type your query into the address bar

:D

Give it a whirl, if you dont like it (doubtful) just un-install it :)

736975 2009-01-10 22:56:00 SurferJoe,

This is the first browser designed for the 21 century where we have multi GigaHertz cpu and GigaBytes of Ram as standard, it is not designed to be frugal with Ram which is no longer a valid consideration if you have a modern computer (and money of course) the browser is not compromised by one tab running into problems as each tab runs in a separate sandbox and runs a separate service within your OS. ie your whole browser doesn't crash because of some problem in one tab, like Firefox.

It is very fast, the fastest, by many measures of all browsers around at the moment.

It is still simple and not bogged down with features, a refreshing change.

Google is behind this browser and there is speculation that they are learning from the mistakes of Firefox which they also fund.

I have a feeling that soon you could say goodbye to other browsers if Google allows adblocking additions like AdblockPlus and NoScript to run as extensions but I bet they won't since that is where Google's money comes from, BUT they won't.

Install privoxy, that'll get rid of the ads. And make it faster
