843314 2009-12-27 01:43:00 A few months ago I made a post about this, it's about my GeForce GTX 260 squealing. I just kind of ignored it, but now it's really starting to get to me.

So basically it cannot be heard when I have my computer plugged into my speakers and listening to music or something. When I plug headphones in to listen to games or movies or something, the headphones seem to amplify the sound.

It can be heard when no headphones or speakers are plugged in it's, just much quieter.

I've googled it, and found so many different options and problems, from fixes like Forcing Vsync on to taking the card apart and putting nail polish on pieces.

I was just wondering if anyone has found a fix or something.

A new card isn't really an option right now, just brought a new HDD.

Thanks.

Edit:

My Video Card is Gigabyte GV-N26OC-896I Video Card, GeForce GTX 260, 896MB, DDR3, PCIe-16, DVI, SLI ready, HDMI

And my PSU (Some say this is the problem) Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus, 550W ATX PSU, SLI Ready, Black

843315 2009-12-27 01:51:00 Is this what youre talking about ? (forums.nvidia.com). Whats the soundcard? Onboard or other? Speedy Gonzales (78)
843316 2009-12-27 01:52:00 It's an onboard one. And yes, that's the thing. Mister (15201)
843317 2009-12-27 01:54:00 Are you plugging the headphones into the front or back?? If front, are you sure you connected it properly? If the audio connections, were separate connections? Speedy Gonzales (78)
843318 2009-12-27 02:01:00 I plug them into the front. I'll check to see if it's connected properly now Mister (15201)
843319 2009-12-27 02:03:00 Does the same thing happen if you plug headphones into the back? If it doesnt, you may have connected them wrong on the front. How much ram is on the mobo?? The main prob I think, is it affects Nvidia based cards. Speedy Gonzales (78)
843320 2009-12-27 02:10:00 Ok just checked the cords everything looks good down there. I'll plug into the back now, see what happens

I have 4gig currently in. 2x2gig ones.

843321 2009-12-27 02:18:00 Ok I'm getting no sounds at all from the back tried all the plugs aswell. Mister (15201)
843322 2009-12-27 02:49:00 Ok I'm getting no sounds at all from the back tried all the plugs aswell.

Hmm that doesnt sound good. The green should be line out (well it is here). Unless GB like doing things differently. Is something still plugged in the front??
