843212 2009-12-26 21:36:00 Guy’s is there any way or programme that can log the Time and Date a computer was turned on and off?

Not looking for a keylogger at this stage, just looking at “Unauthorised Use”. ;)

843213 2009-12-26 21:43:00 The built in Event Viewer will display everything. wainuitech (129)
843214 2009-12-26 21:44:00 You should get some indication of those times in Event Viewer viewer already.

Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Event Viewer/ Application and System logs

843218 2009-12-26 22:39:00 Add a line to autoexec.bat

echo I'm alive and it's %DATE% >> mylogfile.log

That sounds good, can you add time to it?

843219 2009-12-27 03:00:00 Don't have a ME machine to test (or any MS OS atm ).
test the output at a command prompt, IIRC the environment variable %DATE% on XP included the time, or maybe add %TIME% .... YMMV & Google is your friend

Edit: Just ssh'd to XP at work.
c:\Documents and Settings\Me>echo %DATE%_%TIME%
