843158 2009-12-26 05:25:00 Hi Guys.
Merry Xmas all.
Reinstalled Vista from the recovery partition. All went well.
Installed Comodo and MS essentials then tried to run Auto Update.
Already installed were,
1. An update for MS Essentials
2. Widows update agent
and
3. CXT-Network- PCI Soft Data fax modem with smartPC
Try to run Auto update and nothing happens. It says downloading but no progess indicated
(88 updates available).

I seem to recall something about deleting the update Manager then letting it reistall itself but this may be wrong.
Suggestions very welcome

See what it says under windows logs / system. See if there are any errors to do with WUSA. Whats automatic updates on?? Automatic, or tell me when there's updates and I'll install them, or other?
