842808 2009-12-24 20:35:00 I assume if my status page says modulation = ADSL_2plus that it's now running ADSL 2 ahead of schedule as it's was due in Jan 2010 according to telecom..
Is there anything else I must do or will the modem just automatically adjust/setup to ADSL2 by itself.Advice appreciated as I don't know much about router's.Thanks

842809 2009-12-24 20:51:00 Its probably set to that by default. It doesnt mean youre getting it. Once its enabled, you should notice the diff. You dont have to do anything in the router Speedy Gonzales (78)

842811 2009-12-24 20:59:00 Ive got the same modem/router and its on the same thing. BUT, I wont get ADSL2 speed, because I'm not on a ADSL2 plan Speedy Gonzales (78)
842812 2009-12-25 07:01:00 So will I have to be on a ADSL2 plan then I wonder to get ADSL2 ?? I'm just on the 20GB xtra adventure plan.It seems to be running faster the last couple of days.
Telecom says " This address is near a roadside cabinet which has already been upgraded with ADSL2+ technology."

842813 2009-12-25 07:05:00 It looks like Adventure is ADSL 2. So once it arrives you'll notice Speedy Gonzales (78)
842814 2009-12-25 10:59:00 Test it with this

842815 2009-12-25 18:49:00 Test comes back :
Download Speed: 7312 kbps (914 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 402 kbps (50.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 631 ms

Is that good or bad result?
Koenig Tiger (14621)
842816 2009-12-25 19:29:00 Your latency is *horrible*! Do a test at pingtest.net and see what you get.

The raw speeds, not bad :)

842817 2009-12-25 23:16:00 If your line status says you are in ADSL_2Plus mode then you are.

It's nothing to do with what you have enabled on your router. If you forced on ADSL2+ and ADSL2+ only on a line that didn't support it, you would never get sync and nothing would happen.

You are in ADSL2+ mode and it's enabled on your line, but if you are not close enough to whatever cabinet or exchange then you will notice no difference.

I have had ADSL2+ enabled for some time, but I am not close enough for it to matter. Of course when the cabinets are upgraded I will see a faster speed... or should
